Darren writes to Bristol City Council to ask for funding for new Avonmouth C.E Primary School classroom
At Darren Jones’ recent visit to Avonmouth Church of England Primary School, the MP for Bristol North West was concerned to learn that a temporary portacabin, which is currently used as a classroom, has been in place for over 19 years and it’s condition has deteriorated significantly during that time.
Therefore, Darren has now (October 2019) written to Bristol City Council to ask for funding for a new portacabin, or in the long-term, to prioritise future capital investment to build a permanent extension.
“It’s very concerning to see what should be a safe and secure learning space in such a bad condition. Pupils and staff should be able to enjoy their daily school lives without disruption and worry.
Whilst I understand the enormous pressure on council education budgets, I hope Bristol City Council can prioritise this and ensure that students and staff soon have improved facilities.
