Commenting after the visit, the Labour MP Darren Jones said:

“Together North Bristol Advice Centre and Buzz Lockleaze provide a wealth of support to residents on a wide range of topics including debt, benefits, housing, training and employment. It was informative to hear how the common themes of enquires align with the enquiries received in my office and how the team at NBAC and Buzz provide invaluable support to my constituents. There is huge demand for their services, in 2016/17 the NBAC team supported 2658 people, with 808 of those receiving advice to manage debt. These numbers will continue rise with the impact of government cuts to welfare budgets hitting the most vulnerable”.

Darren continued “The café, shop and garden at Buzz Lockleaze are very impressive and a real credit to the staff and volunteers. As well as proving locally-sourced, healthy food the space also allows communities to come together, socialise and reconnect”.
