Darren calls for inquiry into EU Elections disenfranchisement

Darren Jones, MP for Bristol North West, has signed a cross-party letter calling on the Cabinet Office and Electoral Commission to investigate why so many EU citizens to vote in the May 2019 EU Elections and prevent these issues from arising at any future elections.

Darren said:

“After hundreds, possibly thousands, of EU citizens living in the UK, and British citizens living abroad, were unable to vote in the recent EU elections, I’ve signed a joint cross-party letter to the Cabinet Office and Electoral Commission demanding a full inquiry. This situation is just not good enough – the government can’t keep failing to learn the lessons of past EU Elections and denying people their right to vote”.
