Darren comments on improved Muller Road proposals
26th September 2019:
Following a residents meeting on the 30th March and extensive written communication with his constituents, MP for Bristol North West, Darren Jones, submitted his feedback in response to the council’s proposed changes to Muller Road back in April 2019.
Darren has therefore welcomed today’s announcement from the council that all feedback has now been considered and the scheme has been improved, with many of the elements Darren called for having been incorporated.
Darren said:
” The council have now released their revised plans for Muller Road, I’m pleased to say they are much improved with our feedback having been considered and used to refresh the original proposals. This is great news – and just like the A4018 scheme – shows local representation matters”.
- Reducing the length of the southbound bus lane to retain some parking outside The Old Library, including reducing parking restrictions in other areas
- Creating segregated cycling and walking routes between Concorde Way and Fairfield School
- Removing the ban on right-turns on Glenfrome Road
- Closing more through-routes in the Springfield Road area.
- adding an extra southbound lane to sections of Muller Road for buses, taxis and motorcycles
- bus stop improvements such as raised kerbs, to make sustainable transport more convenient
- widening a significant length of pavement alongside Muller Road to improve safety for schoolchildren and other pedestrians and cyclists
- removing the ability to turn right from Glenfrome Road to travel northbound up Muller Road, and making some side streets one-way to improve traffic flow.
