Town Hall: House building and transport in North Bristol

I want to hear the views of my constituents on a broad range of issues that this government is addressing in its Plan for Change.

At this town hall, we'll be discussing our government's mission to build 1.5 million new homes in England and fast-track planning decisions. Whilst this won’t affect Bristol North West, in the local context we have the YTL Arena and Brabazon housing developments, which will neighbour the constituency.

Already, plans to change local transport are in place in response to these developments: new train stations in North Filton and Henbury are due to open in 2026 and 2027, respectively, and work is underway to make changes to the Passage Road section of the A4018, including creating a bus lane. There are also proposals to create a new cycle lane and to widen the footpaths on Charlton Road.

I'm pleased to announce that Seb Loyn, Director of Planning & Development at YTL Developments – the company that is building the Arena and Brabazon housing site – will be joining me on stage for this event. Bristol City Council and the West of England Combined Authority are also preparing written and recorded video message updates specially for the event on the local transport matters mentioned above.

Important:

  • This event is only for people who live in my Bristol North West constituency. If you are not a constituent, your ticket will be cancelled. (You can check if your address is in my constituency here.)

  • For security reasons, the venue details will only be shared with attendees 24 hours before the event. The venue will be in Southmead.

  • The venue is wheelchair accessible.
